Minimal Monthly
Hello, hello!
I had such grand plans to tackle the cellar this summer. Spoiler alert: it didn't happen. But you know what did? I finally got around to photographing a few more handbags from my ridiculous collection for consignment. It's one of those tasks that takes 20 minutes but somehow lives on the to-do list for months.
Sometimes 'good enough' progress is exactly that: good enough.
That theme continued for the rest of the month. With my day job being busy, all my organising happened in tiny pockets of time. But I did manage to unload another 70 or so books and around 50 more CDs to a reseller by doing a few minutes here and there sorting through my shelves.
So, no dramatic weekend overhauls, just small consistent actions. It all adds up to progress just as well as the big purges do.

I'm a fan of Yamazaki Home for their clever, minimalist designs that just work. I'm also a fan of Apartment Therapy, so it was neat to see them team up for a limited edition collaboration.

They've taken some of their most popular organisers and released them in a yummy colour they're calling "Yellow Pear." I think this goes well with a variety of kitchen decors and adds a cheerful, stylish touch. New customers get 10% off their first order with the code WELCOME10.

Here's a roundup of what caught my eye across the web this month. A little bit of organising, a little bit of inspiration, and a few things to think about.
When I logged in to write today's letter on Kit, this story about Dorie Clark's career path popped up. It's such an interesting read about how she landed on content creation and scaled her business.
If youβre wrestling with your linens and lack a proper closet, this Redditor's sheet organising system might be the solution. A simple and effective way to keep sets together and neatly stacked.
Feeling nostalgic? The Ikea Museum has digitised its entire catalogue archive, all the way back to the 50s! It's a super fun look at how our homes and tastes have evolved.
Homeownership comes with a lot of... maintenance. This piece explores why more and more Gen-Xers and Boomers are choosing to rent instead, opting for a life with fewer leaky pipes and endless weeding.
A great way to add personality without creating clutter: the wallpapered ceiling in this flat spotted on Reddit.
Austin Kleon recently pointed to this fascinating log from a man who has meticulously noted every book he's read since 1962βover 3,500 of them. A real testament to a lifelong habit.
I've been taking Pete McPherson's Code Playbook course to get a handle on Cursor, and it's been fun (in a masochistic kind of way, ha). He moves fast, which is the whole point, but I can recommend it if you want to dabble in vibe coding. He's doing $100 off rn with the code SUMMERLASTCALL.
It seems like everyone is gung-ho for a simpler, more hands-on life these days, including Pamela Anderson. This is a charming look at the pickle she's gotten herself into ;)
And finally, a lovely reminder from this 107-year old artist: "Enjoy life. There is plenty of time to be dead." Words to live by.
Enjoy the rest of your summer β

What can I say, the algo loves listicles. Since I've lived in sardine cans myself, I put together 50 of my favourite ways to organise a small flat in this visual roundup.

January 2026 Minimal Monthly Hello, hello! January was supposed to be about fresh starts and diving back into organising. Instead, I spent most of it in a bit of a post-vacation slump, buried in mundane website maintenance, staring at screens while the freezing weather kept (and still keeps) me trapped indoors. Grand organising plans? Nada atm. But one thing did click this month: meal prepping! I started spending a couple of hours in the kitchen each weekend, and it's been a big win for me....
December 2025 Minimal Monthly Hello, hello! I'm writing this from vacation, my first proper break in over two years. And here's the weird part: the first five days were kinda miserable. I felt more stressed than when I was working! Restless. Guilty. Totally unable to relax. And then, of course, I got sick. It wasn't until day six that something shifted. I finally started to actually unwind. Turns out this is completely normal. Research has shown it takes about eight days for people to fully...
November 2025 Minimal Monthly Hello, hello! Outside of tidy-land, I've been on a gov contract this whole year. It ends in four days. I should be celebrating, but I'm too exhausted to feel anything what with not having had a day off since last New Year's. Now that the finish line is finally here, I kinda want to collapse. Burnout rates generally tend to be high in November and December, the exact time when things get even crazier as the holiday season begins. What I'm looking forward to after...
